Los Nanobots worked with several different robot designs, including robots with treads and tri-bot designs, before creating their own robot design from scratch. The team voted on the best design, one that is geared-up for speed, and have been working to make modifications to the design. The design has lots of places for attachments and sensors to complete a variety of missions. Right now, the team is programming missions for the Corn/Harvester, Pollution Reversal, Distant Travel, and emptying one dispenser.

Modifying original base design |

We noticed through observations that these gears are not consistent. They tend to skip teeth and do not mesh well on turns. We had to modify the design and change the gears. |
|
These gears work much better on the turns. |

Thinking about which missions to try first. |

New modified robot base with attachment to catch bacteria from dispenser. |

Same base with new attachment, designed to push brown fish out of the way during the Distant Travel mission. |

Same robot with attachment for catching a piece of corn after pushing the harvester. |
